The Golf: Woodstock, Lahinch and Ennis
Dromoland is a magnificent parkland course situated within the Dromoland Castle
estate with a new layout that is 6845 yards. Woodstock has many natural and historical
features to challenge and intrigue, including four holes where water is the principle
hazard. Ennis Golf Club – founded in 1907 – is immaculately manicured and always
provides a fair test. Lahinch Old Course is a mecca for keen golfers from far and wide.
The world–famous Klondyke (5th), a par five, features a drive into a scenic valley from
where one is expected to play a completely blind second shot over a monstrous sand
dune to a gently rolling green some 200 yards further on.
Castle Oaks Hotel, Castleconnell, County Limerick.
Castle Oaks is set in 26 acres of beautiful countryside on the banks of the River
Shannon with delightful river walks and a leisure centre that includes a swimming
pool. There are 62 luxury period and modern bedrooms. The estate is situated in

The Golf: East Clare, Nenagh and Limerick County
East Clare is a delight and set in quiet countryside where lakes, streams and
mature woodland, enhance the experience. Nenagh’s sand–based undulating
greens are guarded by intimidating bunkers and are proving a challenge for even the
most fastidious of putters. Limerick County is a testing championship standard course
with sand–based greens and tees all built to US PGA standards.
